GNM school
Philosophy
The faculties of the G.N.M. school , Tarakeswar Vivekananda Pally Seva Kendra, Tarakeswar, Hooghly, believes in
1. Value based education which brings transformation of the society.
2. Total development of a person through this programme to enable her to become a useful citizen.
This institutipn believes that on completion of the course she will be able to identify health needs of her client & provide quality care to achieve the goal of nursing.
This nursing care will facilitate the overall professional development of the students through adaptation of new methods & modern technology that will make them capable of working in any institution & community field at large.
Educational Programme
Course : Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery(GNM)
Duration: 3 years + internship 6 months
Seats : 20(subject to change as per INC & WBNC recommendation)
Commencement of the course: September every year.
Accrediatation: the GNM program is fully accredited by Indian Nursing Council & WB Nursing Council.
GENERAL GUIDELINES CONCERNING THE COURSE
The Institution shall follow the general guidelines & rules & by-laws prescribed by the West Bengal Nursing Council & Indian Nursing Council from time to time & other rules & regulations framed under the said guidelines by the School for smooth administration & management of the course.
This school reserves the right to alter/modify / amend any or all the rules concerning conduction of the above course under the guidelines of nursing council. Last available sources show the requirement of trained nurses in India at 2000A.D to be over 9.5 lakhs; this is till maintaining with competent efficiency of only 2 lakhs of nurses. So there is no doubt that the placement of an educated nurse will be the key focus area in India’s medical fields with this to cover the shortfall of this situation we are in a position
not to impose any bond or precondition to a Student Nurse. So that after successful completion of the Course she can choose her
area to work with & to serve the country in her way.
Candidates called for written Test should bring their own pen (Black/Blue) & pencil with them.
ELIGIBILITY FOR APLICATION
1. Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination in any wing with minimum marks 40% for any category. Special preference on Science & Biology.
2. Only Female Unmarried/Widow/Legally Divorced Candidates without encumbrances are eligible to apply.
3. Age should not be less than 17 years & not more than 27 years as on commencement of the course.
4. Candidates should be of Indian Nationality & should be residing in West Bengal uninterruptedly for last 5 years.
5. Eligible candidates should collect the Admit Card from the School of Nursing , Tarakeswar Vivekananda Pally Seva Kendra, Tarakeswar, and Hooghly .
6. All relevant Certificates are to be produced in Original at the time of VIVA VOCE with attested copies.
DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION
1. Duly attested X-ROX copies (4) of the Mark Sheet of H.S (10+2)/ or equivalent examination. (Head Master/Principal/Teacher-in-Charge/Reader/Rector).
2. Duly attested X-ROX copies (3) of the admit card of Secondary/Madhyamik examination. (Head Master/Principal/Teacher-in-charge/Reader/Rector) for age proof.
3. Passport size photo (4+1) (self attested) to be submitted. 1 copy at the time of from collection.
4. Residential Certificate (original) to be submitted which will be provided by the Local MLA/MP/Councilor, Ward/Chairman, and Municipality/Panchayat Pradhan/Sabhadhipati/DM/BDO).
5. Character Certificate from last School or Collage (Original).
6. Any document of extra curricular activities (self attested).

MODE OF SELECTION
1. Selection will be made through written test followed by VIVA VOCE & medical fitness test.
2. A list of selected Candidates eligible for VIVA VORCE (Oral Exam.) will be displayed at the notice board of the GNM School with notification of the date for VIVA VOCE.
3. The notice will be displayed on the notice board at the GNM school ( Tarakeswar Vivekananda Pally Seva Kendra) and the candidates will have to follow the time , date and place of the Viva-voce. No separate or individual intimation will be sent to any candidate for viva-voce.
4. Finally selected candidates will have to appear for medical check up on the prescribed date.
5. The society shall not bear any other expenditure to be incurred by the applicants for attending written examination, Viva-voce and medical test etc.
6. Selected candidates are to abide by the rules and regulations which are enforced or will be framed from time to time by the school authority.
7. No students shall be allowed to marry during training period.
8. All relevant certificates are to be produced in original with tested Xerox copies at the time of viva-voce examination.
CANCELLATION OF SELECTION
The institute shall have the right to cancel admission or student seat of any student during the session if she found guilty of any of the following:
1. Suppression of information.
2. Supply of false information.
3. General misconduct of a student.
4. Adoption of unfair means at the examination.
5. General indiscipline.
6. Any type of crime.
RESIGNATION OR WITHDRAWAL OF NAME - If any one likes to leave the school after Admission and Before the onset of class. Then the admission Fee & payment for 1st installment(3 months charge) will not be refund. She will only be released after getting the alternate candidate. If she likes to leave after the onset of class as well as after W.B.N.C. -Regd. (when there is no chance of admission of other fresh candidate). She will have to pay the total course fee.
At the time of admission the candidate as well as her guardian will sign on a Non-Judicial stamp paper stating that she will keep the original copy of Mark sheet (HS Exam.) & age proof School final ad mit card in the school custody and if she likes to leave the school she will have to deposit the total course fees as per prospectus. then only she will get back the original copies

3 Groups are there presently.Formed by BPL group of Bhimpur(village) of santoshpur panchayet under tarakeswar panchayet samity.Main programmes are paddy harvesting and dairy program.30 women get benefits from this project.
4. ANM(R) Training school:
This project is also under PPP scheme.4th batch of 2nd ANM has completed their training on 30th april,2011.At present there is no ANM(R) batch

6.Mini Indoor Stadium(Under construction ):
Very recent a grant has been received for mini indoor stadium from state govt.When completed this stadium can be used for volly,cobady,kho-kho,badminton etc.Besides that modern community hall and Gymnasium will also be there.
7:Swiming Pool:
Constructed according to national standard of dimention.A regular training program is there by experienced trainer.It has witnesssed intra-district competition.
8.Playground:
9.Vermin Composting:
5 pits have been made near green park area to prepare organic fertilizer.Regularly fertilizer is being produced.A grant of Rs 10000/- has been obtained from Govt of West Bengal.
10.DST:
It has been proposed to start different projects under Department of Science of Technology of Govt. of India.
11.Sustainable Agriculture Network:
This organisation has joined with Sustainable Agriculture Network to help the farmers in alternative cultivation.
12.Micro Insurance-Another project running by our society.
Most of the staffs of our society and local people are the members of this project.Presently LICI Jibonmadhur scheme is running.
13.Mediclaim:(Universal health insurance)
This scheme is mainly for poorer income group.Govornment grants are there for BPL group.For this scheme a family will get chance of treatment of maximum Rs 30,000/- per annum free of cost.
14.Ayusmati pracalpa:
Pregnant women of BPL, SC or ST families are entitled to get free treatment for both normal delivery and caesarean section.At the time of admission following documents have to be submitted
1.certificate of chairman/pradhan.
2.xerox of janani suraksha card
3.xerox of MCH card
Facility for Tubectomy for BPL,SC,ST families.
15.Rastryo Swastho Bima Yojona:
Members of BPL family can get any treatment free of cost.

Creation of Green Park Area - Ornamental Plantation :-
Presently almost about 700 cycus and 700 foxtail trees have been planted in an area of 0.33 acre.Our purposes are

2.pollution control,
3.Sobujayon.
